What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Sr Lead AI Solutions to serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for the design, integration, research, and performance of AI/ML solutions within Wealth Management Canada. You will act as the primary bridge between the AI Innovation Incubator, Borealis, WM Technology, WM Digital, and other teams, ensuring that every AI implementation is technically sound, scalable, and directly tied to near-term benefits and long-term value.
As a key member of the Wealth Management Canada Data and AI Product team, you will drive the team's mandate to develop innovative AI/ML solutions and own the end-to-end delivery of our AI/ML workstreams, from ideation to launch.
What will you do?
AI Solution Ownership & Product Development
Own AI solutions within existing WM tools and new AI products and services, guiding solution design, prompt engineering, model selection, feature engineering, and accuracy
Drive the team's mandate to develop data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions with ownership of end-to-end product development
Shape the delivery of innovative products and foster a culture of innovation within the WMC Data and AI team
AI Innovation and Incubation
Support the development of innovative AI solutions for Wealth Management investment advisors, their teams, and clients
Quickly assess, test, and validate external and internal data, APIs, models, and solutions; conduct rapid prototyping and technical feasibility testing
Work closely with the internal AI Innovation Incubator to transition high-performing prototypes into production-level AI solutions
Cross-Functional Integration & Partnership
Partner with Digital Product Owners to embed AI capabilities into their roadmaps
Define and advise on the interaction and integration between the AI engine and front-end tools
Define the path for successful AI POCs to be developed and scaled by partners; manage close collaboration with partners for development, implementation, and user adoption
AI ROI Attribution & Business Impact
Define and track success metrics for AI solutions; prove that AI solutions are driving specific revenue or efficiency gains required
Translate AI/ML outcomes into business value (e.g., explaining how a 5% lift in precision equals $10M in client outcomes)
AI Risk & Data Governance
Ensure all AI products adhere to strict data quality and integrity standards, working with Wealth Management Technology to maintain robust data pipelines
Ensure AI innovation is responsible, fair, and aligned with RBC WM ethical standards, working with AI Risk Triage, Risk Management, and Compliance teams
Identify potential bias, data gaps, and review prompt quality
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
5+ years of experience in AI/ML/data science
Strong understanding of AI product management, AI/ML lifecycle, and ability to guide and debate AI infrastructure, solution architecture, and model selection
Experience driving AI innovation processes independently, including business need identification, solution architecture design, data integration and analysis, model development, training, evaluation, and validation
High proficiency in Python and SQL with expert knowledge of common data science packages and experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS)
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Master's degree preferred)
Passion for using machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI to solve business problems and fulfil business expectations
Proven ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence stakeholders (product owners, AI engineers, solution architects, etc.)
Ability to translate AI/ML outcomes into business value and explain complex AI concepts to both technical and business audiences
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of financial services and Wealth Management context (MBA or Finance experience is a significant plus)

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$80,000 - $130,000.
