Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Director, Cards Credit Strategy & Portfolio Management will be responsible for driving portfolio growth, through designing and executing credit strategies that balances profitability, credit risk, and client experience.
The role will also contribute to RBC’s AI innovation ambition through AI & Data Transformation (ADT) project, partnering with Borealis AI and product teams to advance RBC’s AI journey.
What will you do?
- Support the Retail Cards business targets for balance growth, market share, profitability while remaining within risk appetite
- Lead a team to develop and manage credit strategy, monitor portfolio performance, advance underwriting framework, and forecast credit losses
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- Expert knowledge of credit principles and risk management techniques including credit scoring models and their application in credit strategy development
- Proven experience leading a team of skilled professionals to deliver aggressive targets in a highly technical environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex strategies and data insights into concise narratives for broad range of senior executives
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a comprehensive understanding of risk, finance, and the issues specific to unsecured underwriting

- High degree of organization and ability to multitask and shift priorities
- Experience managing credit card business at large financial institution
