Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Data Analytics, plays a critical role within Royal Trust and is a key driver of firm wide change and improvement. Ensuring national business management reports whether solely or jointly responsible for, are delivered on time. Responsible for developing and maintaining analytical tools while supporting various strategic initiatives undertaken by the business.

What will you do?

  • Initiate and lead the development and enhancement of reporting systems and analytical tools
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improved process efficiencies and develop/implement solutions to address them
  • Create new business management reports for enhanced data driven decision making
  • Assist in the analysis of key business metrics and financials
  • Support consolidated and court formatted reporting
  • Continually strengthen internal and cross-business working relationships
  • Produce various business management reports
  • Establish trusted relationships with RT employees and RBC partners
  • Prepare presentations and deliver them
  • Share best practices and assist others as required
  • Act as a mentor to new employees
  • Support the maintenance of Business created End User Computing tools
  • Provide coverage to other positions as needed
  • Post and links on RTNet to support changes within the business
  • Support various phases of new and ongoing initiatives
  • Perform special projects as requested
  • Document gaps between current and future processes, create process flow maps

What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:

  • University Degree (preferably in business, finance, economics or IT)
  • 4-7 years of business, finance, accounting, investment, IT, or related experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate proficiency in Access, SQL, PowerBI, and/or Tableau
  • Advanced system, tool, software, and process proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to ideate, initiate, develop and implement solutions
  • Proven track record of being resourceful, independent and creative in performing regular duties and in solving complex problems

Nice to have:

  • Python and Pandas skills would be considered an asset
  • General knowledge of project management disciplines
